Osceola County is located in Florida just south of the Orlando area. It has a population of roughly 276,000, and the county seat is Kissimmee which is located at the northern tip of the county.
The county was established in 1887. It was created from the Brevard and Orange counties, and was later split into a smaller area. Since that time, the boundaries have held a diverse and vibrant community, and houses a large Puerto Rican population.
Osceola County boasts a perfect proximity to many of the attractions that bring millions of visitors to the state every year. Its economy is boosted by the theme parks which lay within miles of the county’s borders. Johnson University Florida, and Florida Technical college are just two of the centers for higher learning that draw young adults from across the country.
